Sanwell Public Relations established an annual $500 scholarship to benefit Northside Neighborhood House, a local nonprofit that promotes the independence of residents in northern areas of the Chattanooga region through education and assistance. The donation will provide after school tutoring to underserved students in specified Hamilton County schools.

The Northside Neighborhood House has an afterschool program that serves students in kindergarten through eighth grade from schools “north of the river” in Chattanooga and Hamilton County. The program offers students individual tutoring, mentoring relationships, academic and enrichment exercises and access to technology through use of iPads and Chromebooks.

CEO of Northside Neighborhood House Rachel Gammon said this donation will help the community.

“We are so grateful for Sanwell’s commitment to helping ensure we can provide support to both students and their families at our community school locations in Hixson, Red Bank, Soddy Daisy and Sale Creek,” said Ms. Gammon.

The founders of Sanwell Public Relations, Andy Santoro Dailey and Emily Kulick Blackwell, wanted to give back to a community typically overlooked. “Supporting the education of local youth in areas that often get neglected by human services programs feels like we’re really making an impact through our own new business. After school tutoring can provide that necessary leg up for many kids, especially in light of school closings due to COVID-19,” said Ms. Dailey and Ms. Blackwell.

Founded this year by Ms. Dailey and Ms. Blackwell, Sanwell Public Relations offers services to help nonprofits and companies create a well-known brand through “strategic, mission-driven publicity.” The two-member female team offers a wide range of tools and services, which can be viewed on their website.
